Snaffles & Bradoons

A Snaffle bit uses a ring at each end of the mouthpiece to apply direct pressure on the bars, the tongue and the corners of the mouth. Common ring types are Loose, Eggbutt, Hanging and Full Cheek.

The Bradoon bit is similar in style to the Snaffle with the same action but is smaller and used in a Weymouth set consisting of two bits, a Weymouth curb and a Bradoon and is ridden with two sets of reins.
